This class is great for clients new to the Pilates method.
The primary focus of this class in on the principles of the Pilates method. These include proper breathing technique, concentration, control, precision, centering, and flow of movement. Emphasis is placed on how to properly engage your abdominal muscles, to keep your body safe and organized during movement. While this class moves at a slower pace, you will still receive a full-body workout. Benefits include increased core strength, increased flexibility, coordination, improved posture and a long, lean physique. Pilates is about quality of movement rather than quantity. This class is also great for clients with an injury or limitation that would prevent them from engaging in advanced exercises.
This class is a full-body workout using the Pilates reformer. You will work several muscle groups simultaneously through smooth, continuous motion, with a focus on strengthening and stabilizing the core. You will build core strength, increase flexibility, coordination, improve posture, and create a long, lean physique.
This high intensity Pilates Reformer class will put your strength and endurance to the test! This class emphasizes all principles of The Pilates Method, (core/back strength, posture, flexibility, balance, alignment, coordination of movement), but with more intensity and higher resistance. Get ready to sweat and sculpt! Not appropriate for beginners for anyone recovering from an injury.
A combination of Pilates mat work and wall unit exercise make this small group class, a maximum of 3 people, great for clients looking to enhance their Pilates training. By utilizing the wall unit, you will stretch your muscles while strengthening and toning your whole body. Be prepared for a challenge!
A challenging total body workout consisting of intervals between cardio drills and resistance training. Both high and low impact versions of exercises will be provided for the cardio portion. Resistance training will focus on body weight type exercises encompassing upper, lower, and core training, as well as TRX. This class integrates athletic, and sports type movements and training, into a fun class that anyone can take. No matter what your fitness level you can participate, as we can modify up or down depending on your level. Get ready for a fun and energetic environment that’s going to make you sweat, make your muscles burn and challenge your body on many levels.
An interval based class, this conditioning format includes exercises selected to burn fat, increase your cardiovascular capacity and improve overall movement. The session begins with a functional warm up to ensure your body is ready for the movement patterns ahead. A fast-paced, energetic workout follows with a mix of bodyweight exercises, functional movements, TRX, as well as core, shoulder and hip stability. Expect the formats to change and progress monthly as your body adapts to the challenges. Come sweat it out! All levels welcome.
In this class you will get a total body workout using the TRX Suspension Training System! TRX uses your own body weight and gravity to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. TRX is easy to modify for all levels. TRX classes also incorporate use of stability balls, weights, and the Bosu balance trainer to keep your heart rate pumping and further challenge your stability, balance, and coordination. All core all the time!
Book a Focus Private to work on a specific issue, such as technique or flexibility. These sessions are not designed to be a full-body workout. These shorter sessions are also great for post-surgery, pre/post natal. Can be booked as a stand-alone appointment, or as an add-on to a private session. This is a great addition to anyone who regularly takes group classes.
Private sessions are especially beneficial if you are new to Pilates, or want 100% of the instructor’s attention. Your instructor will tailor your workout to your needs and goals, using a variety of Pilates apparatus (Reformer, Cadillac, Tower, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Electric Chair) as well as Pilates mat exercises and use of other equipment at HALE, including TRX. You will see results faster with private sessions.
This type of session is great if you have another person in mind you want to workout with. You are accountable not only to your instructor but to your partner. Both motivating and very rewarding.
