I began practicing Vinasaya yoga three years ago and loved the challenge. I really did not know much about Pilates and I was looking for another type of workout so I decided to give it a try after talking to Jane. Jane did a great job explaining the differences between the two practices so I thought I understood what I was in for, but the truth of the matter is that Pilates kicked my BUTT!
I was not expecting the level of strength needed to execute each exercise successfully. While yoga focuses on overall body strength Pilates sculpts each individual muscle into that six pack that you always wanted. Incorporating Pilates has significantly increased my strength and flexibility and my yoga practice has definitely improved.
Growing up in the Midwest I would not believe what I am about to admit but I am a Yogi! I will honestly say that starting this practice has been a lifestyle change for me. Now that I have found Pilates I feel the same way. They are the perfect compliment to each other. The best part of my day? When people tell me how FIT (not good) I look and then touch my butt in awe! As long as Jane will have me I will be her student!
